Be Full of Compassion
For Yourself and Others!
This Sunday, January 24th, take part in a Collective Compassion Meditation from 10am-10:10am MST from the comfort of your own home (or from wherever you happen to be at that time).
Steps to Guide in Focusing on Compassion During Meditation:
1) Begin by finding a quiet place and taking a few deep breaths to calm and ground yourself in the moment.
2) Begin sending positive thoughts/prayers to yourself first (ex: May I be happy, may I be peaceful, may I be calm - you can use whatever words you want to say). Repeat 10 times.
3) Imagine a person you love in your mind and then begin giving him/her positive thoughts/prayers (ex: May you be ___, may you be ____, may you be_____). Use whatever words you wish. Repeat 10 times.
4) Send prayers to someone who is difficult for you in your life and/or you have anger toward. Repeat 10 times. This might be hard to do - notice how you feel when you are doing it. Feeling angry is normal and ok. Stay compassionate with yourself for whatever feelings you have.
5) Send prayers/positive thoughts to your community, your state, your country, to the world as a whole. Move at your own pace and focus where you feel the compassion is needed.
6) Finish by sending prayers/positive thoughts to all humans and all life. Tap into the oneness of us all. Repeat as needed.
Feel the compassion and patience you have within yourself grow as you practice at this specific time with many others around the world.
Meditating together at the same time brings about the energy of loving and caring individuals who want to create more compassion, love and peace in the world. Be a part of this with us!
